A Souper New Year
I suspect you, like me, have been enjoying the bowl games. While the college bowl games have ended, this year the two professional bowl games will be played in the backyard of our national headquarters in South Florida. This will be the first time that the NFL All-Stars will compete the week before the Super Bowl game.

Having these events in Miami are wonderful for the local economy. Millions of dollars will be spent on lodging, transportation and food. Indeed, some very lucky individuals will have the time of their lives!

However, the economy has made life difficult for many people, including those in South Florida. Instead of worrying about where they will watch the big game, their concern is how they will find their next meal.

In an effort to help feed the hungry, Labor Finders is kicking off our own "Soup or Bowl." On behalf of every new customer who does business with any Labor Finders office nationwide, we will donate a bowl of soup to feed the hungry. In addition, one customer will get a one-of-a-kind serving bowl. The bowl was commissioned by a well-known South Florida ceramic artist and will bear a striking resemblance to the stadium hosting these two big games! In 2009 we planted trees in a national forest, gave skin cancer education and sunscreen to our temporary workers and provided job coaching and food to the homeless in Sacramento, California.

We will begin 2010 with high hopes for a rebounding economy; in addition we are aware of the numerous and difficult issues our federal, local government and citizens will need to tackle. Providing soup to those in need is just the beginning.
